This client are recruiting Doctors to be based at 2 of their surgeries in Wollongong.

There are currently 11 GPs at the larger practice which will be undergoing a $1 million refurbishment, including a wellness centre that will have many facilities and services on offer including fitness, nutrition and cooking lessons to promote an all-round approach to health. It should be complete by October this year and this location is the where the physicians will be based in the longer term.

Doctors with special interest in Skin, Occupational Health and Urgent Care will be able to use and develop these skills servicing a mixed patient demographic of families, children and an older population.

The nearby University has close ties with the practice and there are usually 3-4 students at the surgery at any one time so GPs with an interest in teaching will be able to pursue this too.

The practice is based between the 2 hospitals in the area and patients with minor injuries will be redirected to the surgery and the new 7 bed treatment room that will be available. The whole practice will equipped to the highest standard with all the administrative, nurses, allied health and support staff that you would expect of a practice of this calibre.

Demand is so high that patients are waiting for 90 minutes before the practice opens its doors and they are turning people away on a daily basis so GPs can expect to be full booked almost immediately.

  • 70% billings
  • $40k relocation for a 2 year contract
  • High earnings
  • Established patient base

The Location

Wollongong lies 50 miles south of Sydney and is less than 50 minutes drive to the Southern Suburbs of Sydney. It has an approximate population of 400,000. The city has beautiful beaches with a dramatic backdrop of green and sandstone of the Illawarra Escarpment.

It’s the third largest city in NSW, has a multi-cultural history and is a University town, adding to its international feel and cosmopolitan outlook, with people from over 100 countries having made their home there.

The variety of restaurants, theatres, cinemas, pubs and clubs make for an active nightlife while the art galleries, museums, botanic gardens, beaches and activities offer plenty to do during the day.

With considerably lower house prices than Sydney, excellent schools and fantastic range of activities it's no wonder that many people chose the coastal living available here as it's close proximity to Sydney mean you can enjoy the best of both.

What Head Medical can do for you

Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK’s specialist in international medical recruitment and we’ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.

other opportunities contact Vicki today.
