Enjoy a real work/life balance and contribute to the continuing success of this well a well-managed practice in a growing community minutes outside of the CBD.

  • Fully computerized, excellent administration support
  • Attractive remuneration package
  • GPs – eligible for relocation grant

The Role

The practice is privately owned and operated and has a stable team of doctors. However one of their long standing practitioners is finishing up and this has created a fabulous opportunity for you to join the team. The practice is in a growing area, popular with families, first home buyers and retirees, and it is classified as being rural (offering access to a DWS placement) despite being minutes from the CBD.

The practice building itself is spacious and has well-equipped consulting rooms, an emergency room and treatment and nurses’ rooms.  There is a great tea room and private out door area where you can soak up the sun during your sessional breaks.

The practice is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, and offers a morning clinic on Saturdays on a shared roster basis. The doctors do not do any on call as the practice subscribes to the local after hours triage system.

Bulk billing is offered to pensioners, veterans and children less than 16 years of age, while a co-payment is charged to other patients, ensuring an attractive remuneration for GPs.

The practice is registered as a sponsor for immigration purposes and is experienced in recruiting doctors from overseas employing GPs from a diverse range of backgrounds including from Australia, Britain, India and Iran.

The location

Tasmania is a truly unique location. Australia’s southernmost state offers clean, white sandy beaches, forests of Huon Pine and massive tree ferns and pristine mountain lakes. Whether it is high culture, the arts and great music you are after or hiking, diving and fishing….Tassie has it all.

With a temperate climate, it doesn’t suffer the wild fluctuations that other regions do. The summer nights are warm and mild and seem to stretch for ever staying light until after 9.30 pm in the summer.

Hobart, the capital, is a very affordable city, easy to navigate and has a range of excellent schools to choose from along with a well-respected university. An international airport offers travel to most of Australia’s capitals and some regional centres too.

But don’t just take my word for it; why not check out what Lonely Planet says:

What Head Medical can do for you…
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
