The busy service provides over 3000 endoscopy procedures per year and approximately 2000 outpatient appointments. The team currently comprises three gastroenterologists, and a team of nurses lead by two registered nurses with extensive gastroenterology outpatient, and endoscopy experience. We have a very active and involved group of medical and surgical specialists here and a very collegial atmosphere exists. Radiology facilities are excellent.
As our successful candidate, you will have proven skills and experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. On application, please include a summary of your endoscopy experience. An ability to perform ERCP would be desirable but not essential and experience in deploying oesophageal, duodenal and colonic stents is highly desirable as currently only one of the Gastroenterologists provides this expertise. If necessary training in these techniques will be arranged.
A shared role with Internal Medicine may be able to be considered but is certainly not mandatory.
The appointee will be involved in teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement. There is emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients. A commitment to customer focus, service development and teamwork are essential.
