The Location...

Vines in the Hunter Valley’s rich soils produce some of the world’s best wines. Australia’s oldest wine region is two hours’ drive from Sydney and is known for its internationally acclaimed semillon, family-owned wineries, innovative young winemakers, delicious restaurants and fresh produce.

Broken Back Range is a spectacular backdrop to this most picturesque of Australian wine regions. You’ll discover plenty of things to do — winery tours, festivals, farmers markets and splendid attractions. For a bird’s-eye view of the vineyards, gently soar in a hot-air balloon or go skydiving.

Golf in the vineyards is another popular activity. Tee off at championship golf courses, such as the Greg Norman-designed The Vintage. The tranquil environment of the Hunter Valley is perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation too. Pamper yourself at one of the many day spas in the region.

A great way to experience the valley is on scenic drives. The southern gateway is Cessnock, where the Cessnock Regional Art Gallery hosts travelling exhibitions. You can also hire bicycles and pedal from charming villages, such as PokolbinLovedale and Rothbury, to vineyards and cellar doors. To the west is Broke, a hamlet surrounded by vineyards with delightful food and wine experiences.

How Head Medical can help…

Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
