We are urgently seeking a Division Chief in Paediatric Neuroimaging for a world-class medical and research center in Qatar.
You will be working in a brand new, state-of-the-art academic medical center that will function to the highest level of international standards. Its clinical focus is on the specialty care of women and children. The inpatient facility will open in the first quarter of 2018.
Department Profile
The department of Radiology will have multiple campuses and an international reputation for providing excellence in clinical care, teaching and biomedical research. The Department of Radiology coordinates its medical services and collaborates the research and educational activities with Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar. The level of Qatari interest and support in medical quality, education, innovative research and technology has already resulted in significant discoveries and highly functional research organisations that will collaborate with the hospital. The Radiology department offers a comprehensive range of routine and advanced radiology services for women and children, equipped with state of the art technology in a completely digital imaging environment. It is made of the following services, delivered in accordance with best practice standards whilst being driven by 'clinical evidence' methodologies, in a patient-centered, highly collaborative environment: General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Bone Mineral Densitometry, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional Radiography, Intra-operative MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT. A broad range of services will be provided including the use of novel and upcoming technologies. It is anticipated that, by providing specialist and sub-specialist expertise in an integrated team environment and concomitantly conducting research, the centre will become a substantive referral centre for patients within and outside Qatar.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Clinical Chief of Radiology, The Division Chief provides clinical, educational, research and executive management leadership in Neuroimaging. They will be a clinical and managerial leader working with executive team to develop and deliver strategy and business plans and is accountable for resources and performance in Neuroimaging. In conjunction with cross-functional teams, the Division Chief will integrate researcha dn education priorities into a program of excellent clinical service delivery.
The Division Chief will have a full-time appointment to Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar. Furthermore, they will function as an integrated member of the imaging team. it is anticipated that dedicated academic and administrative time will be provided, but that the Division Chief also provides specialist clinical radiology services for the Department of Radiology with particular regard to service provision in women's, paediatric and neonatal imaging for patients and medical research. The individual occupying this position reports directly to the Clinical Chief - Body Radiology and works cooperatively with radiologists, department staff and other stakeholders, including referring clinicians and patients. They provide educational support in radiology to junior medical and other staff.
Through the diagnostic interpretation of high quality images, the Radiologist is responsible for ensuring a high standard of service is continually provided to all patients, their families and other hospital staff as prescribed in the patient care and facility standards set down by the Centre. It is expected that the radiologist will perform research or pursue approved academic initiatives during dedicated academic time, which will be provided every week. Furthermore, participation in continuous quality improvement is mandatory and it is expected that all staff will contribute to this important and continually evolving process.
Essential Qualifications and Experience required
- MD Degree or equivalent;
- Residency training in Radiology;
- Subspeciality Fellowship;
- 10 years' clinical experience in diagnostic imaging;
- 3 years' plus experience in an Academic Leadership position;
- Board Certification / CCT in Radiology;
- Experience at a dedicated paediatric or women's medical imaging facility would be preferred;
- Management experience;
- Research, Education or Administration experience;
- Valid professional license in the country of origin or country of practice in the specialty area;
