The unique healthcare and social issues of the population attract medical specialists from around the world. The medicince can be complex but hugely rewarding.

You will provide a first class Infectious Diseases and General Medicine service on an inpatient and outpatient department and HITH and hospital context as well as supervising and teaching junior medical staff.
You will apply your planning and service development skills not just to this hospital or HITH but also to Infectious Diseases for the Northern Territory as a whole. The Northern Territory's "Top End" is one of the few truly tropical region
A number of medical conditions common in the Top End are rarely seen outside of the developing world. This provides an excellent and rare opportunity to experience tropical medicine in the developed world - with first world resources and facilities. Darwin is approved by the UK Royal College of Physicians for training in tropical medicine.
You will enjoy building a lasting service and contributing to the health and welfare of the population.
You will be a Consultant/Specialist in Infectious Diseases and with interests in General Medicine. More then half of admissions in General Medicine have an infectious disease, with the indigenous population presenting with combinations of diabetes, renal disease, ischaemic and rheumatic heart disease.
