The Launceston General Hospital is a 350 bed teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania including a clinical school. The service is undergoing a transformation. Part of this includes increased funding and as such they have openings for two Consultant/Specialists.
You will provide first class specialist medical care to public patients, involve yourself in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and post graduate teaching, providing specialist advice to inpatient units as required. You will provide consultancy services to other specialty departments in the hospital, collate clinical data, participate in relevant committees and fulfil admin responsiblities.
You will be a Consultant/Specialist with specialist qualifications in GIM or Acute Medicine. If not a FRACP, you will have completed this specialist training in a country with comparable training programs to Australia: NZ, UK, Ireland, South Africa, USA or Canada. Or, you will have had substantial consultant/specialist work experience in one of these countries.
Naturally, applicants in this context who have been assessed or who are close to being assessed by RACP will be highly regarded.
