Are you a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Specialist Surgeon interested in relocating to Australia?

We are currently seeking a Surgeon on a permanent basis for the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Townsville in North Queensland - a tropical destination that offers urban sophisticates, outdoor enthusiasts, and families of all ages, a really balanced lifestyle.

The unit has established open and endovascular lists and currently undertakes over 700 procedures each year. Common procedures include lower limb revascularisation by endovascular, open and combined procedures; endovascular aneurysm repair; carotid endarterectomy; open aortic surgery; AV fistula creation and maintenance; other vascular access procedures for oncology and renal purposes; venous surgery; and diabetic foot procedures.

The Hospital
This is a modern and spacious tertiary referral hospital with more than 495 beds. Affiliated with The James Cook University it also services an immediate population of approximately 157,000 (with a regional population of approx. 600,000 which spans as far north as Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands, and west to Mount Isa and the Gulf of Carpentaria). The Hospital offers a supportive learning environment and the opportunity gain exposure to rural and indigenous health issues and a variety of interesting tropical medicine cases that you would not get in many other Australian Hospitals. It is also the major teaching hospital for James Cook University's schools of medicine, nursing and allied health and for the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE.

The Location
Townsville is situated right on the Pacific Ocean and with a population of approx 157,000, it is Australia’s largest tropical city. Its rich cultural mix and vibrant centre makes it a perfect place to put down roots and embrace the Aussie way of life.
