The opportunity
You will be a Liver/Peritonectomy surgeon (ideally with subspecialty training in liver and peritoneal cancer surgery) who will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the peritoneal/liver/oncological cancers. The Surgeon needs to be able to operate independently in both peritonectomy and liver surgery, manage the preoperative and postoperative care of the patients, provide expert clinical advice and leadership to the Expanded Multidisciplinary Team and independently manage the unit when required.

It is the Level 1 Trauma Centre for SESLHD and is among the leading centres for trauma and emergency management in the State. The hospital’s close proximity to Sydney airport makes it a vital service providing first response to the airport precinct.
The $277 million redevelopment of St George Hospital includes a new seven-storey Acute Services Building built above the new Emergency Department.
The Acute Services Building includes Intensive Care, High Dependency, Cardiac Intensive Care, extra operating theatres as well as extra acute inpatient beds
