Head Medical are delighted to be working with East Kent Hospitals to source a Consultant Stroke Physician to join the driven and passionate team at the William Harvey Hospital based in Ashford.
The East Kent Stroke Service provides 24-hour IV thrombolysis and has successfully treated over 1200 cases. It is supported by one of the first examples of horizontal telemedicine. The seven-day neurovascular TIA service offers designated same day MRI/CEMRA (including weekends). The Rapid Access Carotid Endarterectomy (RACE) is operational, with a published median delay to surgery of 3 days. Carotid stenting takes place in house with IA intracranial therapies planned for the next year. Early supportive discharge with Neuro ICT in reaching to the combined inpatient rehabilitation services, compliment the hyper acute end of the pathway.
If successful, you will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge and will undertake the administrative duties associated with their care. You will be expected to work collaboratively with the Clinical Director, the Group Management Team, and other departments on organisational and budget planning. You will form a part of the Trust wide thrombolysis service and coexistent neurovascular clinic rota supported by Stroke Physicians and Neurologists.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must:
- Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Be on the Specialist Registration with the GMC (or be within 6 months of your expected date of entry at time of interview).
- Hold experience in either HCOOP/neurology or rehabilitation.
Salaries will follow the NHS pay scale and be from £82,096 up to £110,683, dependent on experience. This position is subject to a police check. Those requiring a Tier 2 visa will be considered as well as those interested in part time.
