Your responsibilities will include:

  • undertaking clinical work in an inpatient and outpatient setting, including involvement in an on-call roster.
  • providing leadership, including clinical and program direction.
  • working with the health district's clinical Services and other stakeholders (including NGO's, carer,patient group etc.) throughout the region.
  • educating clinical staff of the mental health service.
  • planning, organising, implementing and evaluating developments in mental health service provision and delivery.

If you are not FRANZCP, due to the strictness of RANZCP assessment requirements your professional profile will ideally meet the following:

  • Completion of your specialist training in either UK, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, USA  or Canada.
  • MRCPsych (or equivalent). 
  • At least 2 years professional experience at Consultant/Specialist level following the completion of your specialist training. 
  • You completed 6 months of child & youth psychiatry in your basic or advanced training.
