The Northland region boasts some of the most scenic and exciting coastal areas of NZ in a subtropical climate. Its rich in Māori and European history, some of the oldest traces of Māori settlement can be found here and newcomers will experience a real – and unique - connection with the culture (Tikanga Māori ) and way of life. With its high sunshine hours and fantastic natural environment, including white sandy beaches and native forests, it has the reputation of being one of the country’s premier tourist and lifestyle destinations.

Explore the nearby surrounding areas at the weekends; Waitangi, Paihia and Opua, or catch the ferry over to Russell in the Bay of Islands. Visit the magnificent and unspoiled Hokianga Harbour, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views and feel the deep spirituality and rich cultural history of the local Iwi.

Explore the ancient Kauri forest and meet the majestic Tane Mahuta, cycle the Twin Coast Cycle Trail, or paddle a 40ft traditional war canoe (Waka Taua) – all experiences you will only find in New Zealand.
