Consultant Psychiatrist - Prison, Subtropical Queensland Coast, Australia.

Psychiatry.

Multi-purpose, secure facility.

Team is made up of Consultant/Specialist Psychiatrist, a registrar, clinical coordinator, a prison mental health clinician and indigenous mental health worker.

Prison capacity of 500.

Join a supportive and collaborative group of Consultant clinicians in the broader service.

 

 

 

Hospital & Health Service
Greater health service provides services to approx. 200k people.

Provides acute inpatient, outpatient, mental health, oral health and a range of specialist, community and outreach services.

Fast growing, well funded service - agile to developing demographic changes.

64k mental health patient contacts 2016-2017 (all contexts).

Selection criteria.

FRANZCP or completion of specialist training in a comparable country of training: NZ, UK, Ireland, USA or Ireland.

If you are an overseas trained psychiatrist you must have minimum of 3 years work experience at Consultant level and have had a minimumm of 6 months in formal CAMHS training post in your basic or advanced training.

Prison experience.

Demonstrated enthusiasm for your own and your team's professional development.

Demonstrated ability in developing a service via quality improvement initiatives.
