Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in neurodisability/developmental paediatrics - Substantive Post - Guernsey
An exciting position has become available on the fabulous island of Guernsey. With a location just off the coast of France, this area has great weather, low crime rates and a flat 20% tax rate. You will be working in a wholly Consultant led service, covering Paediatrics and Neonates, on a full time basis. There is potential to take on additional private work, or maintain an honourary commitment on the mainland. An excellent salary of £124,236 is on offer, plus pension, benefits and a generous relocation package to help with making the move.
You will be an experienced Consultant Paediatrician with a sub specialist interest in neurodisability/developmental paediatrics, holding GMC Specialist registration, current NLS/APLS and have level 3 training in child protection. Additionally you must have a minimum of 1 years experience in a level 3 neonatal unit at SpR level. The post is non resident, and the out of hours on call commitment is 1 in 5. Each Consultant will work an 'attending week' 1 in 5 and will oversee care of all medical and neonatal inpatients, also taking emergency calls from GPs, ED and the safeguarding team. The post is salaried and unlike NHS jobs it is not based on the number of PAs worked. Private practice can be carried out during the DCC element of the job plan, which will consist of 12 PAs total activity, with 2 PAs allocated flexibly as SPAs.
As the second largest of the Channel Islands measuring just over 24 square miles, it has a population of approximately 65,000. Easily accessed from the UK mainland there are direct flights from several cities, or a ferry option. There is a low crime level, very pleasant climate and beautiful bays and beaches to visit, it is ideally suited to family life.
