An exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant Ophthalmologist, specialising in Medical Retina and Cataract to join a hospital based in beautiful North Yorkshire.
This job will provide the opportunity to lead, provide and develop Medical Retina and Cataract care to the Scarborough and the East Coast catchment area. If successful you will work within the Ophthalmic team developing pathways, whilst complementing an existing, well established and expanding service and providing support to the urgent care system.
The Ophthalmology department consists of a team of 18 Consultants with an addition 4 working cross site. The hospital is a large general hospital which offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and located in the historic city of York. Ophthalmology outpatients are delivered across sites and the inpatient service is based within dedicated day case facilities at York and Scarborough.
This is being offered on a full-time basis however happy to speak with those who are looking for part time work or job share. Individual job plans will be discussed with the successful candidate and reviewed at least once annually. An example job plan is available on request.
To be considered for this role you must:
- Hold registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Be on the Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 18 months of Interview. CESR or European Community Rights.
- Be happy to work cross site when needed.
- Have or be willing to obtain a satisfactory police check.
Salary follows NHS pay scales and will be from £79,860 up to £107,668 dependent on experience.
