This unique and exciting position is about delivering first class specialist OBS & GYN public health services to inpatient, outpatient patients in a major teaching hospital as well as regional hospitals and within an outreach context in remote communities.

Key result areas
✔Inpatient, outpatient sessions and theatre sessions, incorporating teaching, and provide specialist opinion to consultant colleagues in other specialties.
✔Outreach work to regional hospitals and remote communities in the Northern Territory.
✔Providing rostered routine and emergency after hours care
✔Help, manage and evaluate the work of relevant medical staff.
✔Teaching undergrad and postgrad medical staff.
✔Participation in your own professional development activities.
✔Quality improvement and audit.
✔Research.
You will lead within the service ensuring that all levels of medical staff have the appropriate education and skills. You will also work closely with a passionate group of midwifery, nursing staff and other internal stakeholders providing expert input on health and hospital policy as well as ongoing integration of health services in the Northern Territory.
You will be a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist and hold FRANZCOG or equivalent. You will have a collaborative style of working, be experienced in and sensitive to a cross-cultural work and patient environment.
Darwin has a rich choice of private and government schools. It has full amenities and the infrastructure you’d expect from a modern city in a country with the with the largest median wealth per adult.
It is a seat of government and has 2 Universities. Major energy companies have offices or have projects headquartered in the city with the associated service providers based nearby providing additional employment opportunities for spouses etc.
