We are seeking a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to be based in Invercargill, on the South island of New Zealand.

Hospital and role

Southland Hospital is a modern secondary level facility, with first class clinical support facilities and excellent links to the tertiary centre in Dunedin.   

There are approximately 1400 births per year at Southland Hospital and a further 200 in the rural areas. The department consists of a 14 room maternity unit with 4 birthing rooms, a level two 5 cot neonatal unit and a dedicated Women's Health Unit. The service is supported by a team of experienced midwives, obstetrics, gynaecology and colposcopy nurses.

This role is primarily based in Invercargill with some travel across the Southern District being expected. Participation is expected in the on call roster, routine obstetrics, routine gynaecology and colposcopy clinics including some outreach clinics. We would be keen to hear from a wide range of applicants from new graduates to those with an interest in clinical leadership, complex obstetrics or Urogynaecology.
