The Role

You will help provide a tertiary referral service for women suffering from incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor dysfunction within the Urogynaecology services, joining two part-time subspecialists. A sizeable portion of this work will involve caring for women with vaginal mesh complications through a new mesh complications clinic that is being set up.  To this end, any experience in the setting up of and participating in a specialised multi-disciplinary service for mesh affected women would be advantageous, and you would have the opportunity to help shape and take responsibility for the clinical requirements in the planning phases of this clinic.

Your role will include assessment of women through outpatient clinics (including a mesh assessment clinic); procedural office urogynaecology including urodynamic studies, outpatient cystoscopy and pelvic floor ultrasound scanning; surgery; ward rounds and supervision of junior medical staff.

Along with colleagues from other specialities, you will promote a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment of patients with pelvic floor pathology, and advise and participate in strategies for prevention and early non-invasive treatment.
