Head Medical are delighted to offer opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated Consultants to join an Emergency Medicine department based in beautiful North Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will be part of the creation of an exciting Acute and Emergency service, working within a forward thinking and motivated team with ED attendances of approximately 150 per day.

The Emergency Department has seen a great deal of investment and support in the last few years and is to benefit from a £40 million share of funding, following a successful bid by the Trust for capital investment as part of the Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership. The funding will enable the creation of a Combined Emergency Assessment Unit within the next 5 years.

The emergency department hosts higher medical trainees, ACCS trainees, GP trainees and Foundation Year 2 trainees, trainee and trained Advanced Care Practitioners and supports a CESR completion route for Specialty Doctors.
The hospital also hosts undergraduate medical students from the Hull York Medical School and has a very active postgraduate centre with extensive newly-built facilities which includes simulation facilities.

The Trust is research active and is committed to embedding clinical research into every practice. As a Trust they recruit approximately 4000 patients a year into clinical trials and there is currently research active at the hospital in over 15 areas with 8 Research Nurses supporting activity.

The successful candidate will hold GMC specialist registration or be within 6 months of CCT date or within 12 months of expected CESR approval. This job is subject to a police check.
