A fantastic opportunity has arisen Based in the beautiful location of West Wales, there is a requirement for a Consultant in Emergency medicine to provide a service for Emergency Medicine to the hospital and community so designated with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.

This is a full time opportunity which is a twelve month contract initially, with the opportunity to apply for a substantive post once in situ. The salary band for this position is £84,651.00 based on experience.

You will provide supervision/management of patients presenting to the emergency medicine department, which involves the supervision of junior doctors and ENP’s.  Clinical investigation, diagnosis and treatment of patients as well as assisting the consultants in running the emergency department, with supervision and management of patient flow, middle grade and junior doctors. The duties also involve updating patient's clinical notes and discharge summaries. 

A key responsibility will be the display of effective leadership in setting direction for junior doctors.  The trust also run a successful Consultant Development and Mentoring Scheme. 

The post holder will participate in regular audit meetings and postgraduate teaching sessions.  The health board has excellent postgraduate & research facilities, and will support appropriate study leave for CPD.
