Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry - part time substantive

Due to an expansion of the service there is a position now available for a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to be based in Bute and the Cowal peninsula in the west of Scotland. You will be developing the service in this area and a special interest in eating disorders is highly desirable. Previous Consultant experience is required and it is essential that you are on the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for this within 6 months.

This is a part time post, working 20 hours per week (5 PAs) and the salary will be offered on a pro rate basis, plus NHS benefits. The post is part of a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team which aims to work collaboratively and flexibly to achieve a very high standard of care. The team philosophy is to provide for the assessment and treatment of young people who have moderate to severe mental health difficulties using evidence-based practice in the context of the young people’s personal development, with the aim of preventing chronic difficulties whenever possible. The service aims to be responsive to the needs of young people presenting with a wide range of mental health disorders.
