A well established University Health Board in Wales is looking for a full time Consultant Pathologist to fulfil either a six or twelve month contract with the option of a permanent post if desired. Joining a progressive team of consultants in a very dynamic and forward looking Cellular Pathology service.
This post comes during a period of Health Board-wide service reviews, including a comprehensive reconfiguration of services for the Cellular Pathology Service. The aim is to provide a spectrum of flexible and responsive services across the Health Board encompassing:-
- Development of a comprehensive Diagnostic Cellular Pathology Service
- Effective leadership to multidisciplinary staff members of the unit
- Development of teaching, training and research within the organisation
The potential for Health Board-wide developments and a closer liaison with primary care and social services is substantial and an exciting aspect of this role. A major expansion in undergraduate medical student teaching is also planned.
The successful candidate will be expected to hold FRCPath or show evidence of equivalent supervised training and experience in the speciality and must be included on the Specialist Registrar of the GMC or be eligible for registration within 6 months of interview. Salary will reflect the current NHS pay scales.
