Head Medical are currently seeking to appoint a Consultant in Care of the Elderly to work in Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, a new purpose-built state of-the-art hospital. The successful Consultant will join an active and multi-professional team within Ward C and will shape service design around areas of frailty, front door and outreach to the community hospitals.
This job would suit someone who is forward thinking and has a broad range of experience in Medicine as well as Geriatrics and be interested in changing the services to meet future demands. Full support is given from the dedicated, experienced and passionate multi-professional team.
The hospital is based on the western skirts of the town and the region itself offers beautiful countryside, from rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to forests, hills and rolling plains. With a wide range of activities on offer in the area you can maintain a great work/life balance. Housing prices are relatively low compared to the bigger cities and it boasts good schools for those in need. Being only 2 hours travel time from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lake District and Newcastle you will be able to fully enjoy these places during time off.
To be considered for this post you must hold registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist registration (or within 12 months of achieving this). Salary will follow NHS scales and be from £82,699 up to £109,849 and will be dependent on experience. This job is subject to a police check.
