We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Geriatrician for an expanding team in sunny Rockhampton, Central Queensland - a major regional city which offers an ideal lifestyle and is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
The 227-bed Hospital provides services to a local population of 65,000 (regional catchment area is approx. 200,000) and also supports smaller satellite hospitals within its catchment area.

The Role
We are looking for someone who is up to date on recent developments within health of older people and is passionate about maintaining strong links with the wider multidisciplinary team, including Emergency and Acute Medicine, as well as local GPs and community groups.
You will have broad experience and skills across Geriatrics and General Medicine along with a sound understanding of contemporary models of care; proven leadership skills and experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment; an interest in medical education and teaching, including providing supervision and education to medical students and other clinical staff; and a commitment and willingness to be involved in continuous quality improvement programmes.
You will hold Fellowship of the Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent, e.g. FRCP, and be registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA as a specialist in Geriatrics (and General Medicine).
If you are an overseas trained physician and you have been assessed by the RACP as "substantially comparable", this will be viewed favourably.
Please note that depending on your personal background and experience, you may be required to fulfil English language requirements, such as IELTS or OET, as part of the registration process.

Rockhampton is known as the “beef capital of Australia” – a nod to the cattle industry, which plays an important part in the local and national economy.
