Paediatrics has 1 clinical director, 5 FTE Consultants (Staff Specialists), 4 senior registrars, 8 middle/junior grade posts.

Experienced and collaborative nursing , midwifery staff.

Level 4 Special Care Nursery has C.P.A.P. and ventilator capabilities, undertaking short term respiratory support for newborns, or stabilisation before transfer to a Tertiary facility for ongoing management. Infants born less than 32 weeks gestation are transferred in-utero if possible, in consultation with the Obstetric team. The hospital has a busy Paediatric outpatient’s department reviewing a wide variety of paediatric conditions and includes a diabetic clinic.
Job Scope includes but isn’t not limited to:

Provide first class clinical and non-clinical care to patients , inpatient and outreach contexts.

Undertake ward rounds, outpatient clinics and operating services.

Maximise your experience to educate and supervise specialist trainees and other medical staff.

Ensuring safety and quality procedures are maintained, reviewed and developed.

Taking an active role in development and implementation of organisational processes to improve the service, safety systems etc. and related training.

Teach medical students from universities.

Managing admin requirements.

Have FRACP in child health

Candidates with additional additional training or special interests in developmental paeds, neonatology, allergy/respiratory are encouraged to apply.
