Consultant Diagnostic Radiologist - Scotland
An opportunity is available for a Consultant Diagnostic Radiologist to join my client in the Western Isles, Scotland for a one-year fixed term contact or permanent post. The Western Isles is located off the West coast of Scotland, and you will be based in Stornoway.
You will be the sole radiologist joining a busy clinical service with a strong reputation for team working within the hospital and community. There is no obligatory on call commitment with this post. Second opinion, peer review and out of hours remote support will be provided under the terms of the Obligate Network, currently with NHS Borders.
The delivery of radiological diagnoses to a population spread over such a large geographical area poses special challenges. It requires good working relationships between primary and secondary care and benefits from innovative approaches to clinical and managerial problems such as the use of evolving technology to break down barriers of geography and improve the two-way flow of clinical cooperation between primary and secondary care and specialty care.
Contracted activities for this appointment will be defined and agreed with the post holder and Medical Director.
Medical registration with the General Medical Council is required and ideally specialist registration or plans to complete CESR. Those doctors who require visa sponsorship can be considered, please mention if you will require a working visa. Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists is highly desirable.
Please contact Karen Diamond at Head Medical to discuss the details and your suitability.
