The Role and Hospital
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the provision of quality cost efficient anaesthesia, preadmission review and acute pain services care and clinical consultative services within the Toowoomba Hospital.
There are eight operating theatres, 2000 deliveries per annum, high dependency and intensive care. The Department of Anaesthesia’s current medical establishment is 22 specialists, including the Director, Visiting Medical Specialist, 11 Registrars / PHO/JCCA trainee and 2 Residents.
The Department is accredited for training of registrars with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Medical students from the Rural Clinical School, UQ rotate through the Department of Anaesthesia.
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
