But there’s lots to do if you also enjoy a more leisurely pace of life too, with funky little cafés, bars and restaurants, fishing, sailing, exploring the many lakes, as well as the proximity to places such as the beaches in Tauranga (1hr drive), Hamilton (1hr 20min) and Auckland (3 hrs). You can simply enjoy living in a unique location in a lovely climate.

It’s also an area steeped in history and legend, a place where Tikanga Māori (Māori culture) is celebrated – making this a truly unique place to live.

There is a domestic airport with daily flights to Auckland’s international airport, making connections to/from Rotorua very easy (45 minutes).

If you are an overseas specialist Anaesthetist, you must hold equivalent specialist qualifications from either Australia (FANZCA), UK (via CCT), Ireland (via CCT), Canada, South Africa, or USA (Board certification) that will enable Locum Tenens registration (short term specialist pathway).

We can assist with medical registration and the work visa, if successfully appointed.

** Primary Source Verification using EPIC **

From 1st November 2017, all relevant qualifications must now be verified by ECFMG using the EPIC system on behalf of the Medical Council of New Zealand.

If you are committed to working in New Zealand, we encourage doctors to start this process off as soon as possible if you hold qualifications from outside NZ.  Delays in verifications can impact on start dates, if not completed timeously.  Candidates are invited to log on to EPIC and complete this step online.  This is particularly important for a fixed term role commencing ASAP. EPIC verifies your identity and your qualifications directly with you.

Log on to EPIC here and read the FAQs section about how to get started.
