Griffith Hospital is a 119 bed C1 peer grouped hospital providing a range of acute specialists services with 2 well-equipped operating theatres. There is general surgical, general medical, paediatric and obstetric emphasis. The hospital is also serviced with a 24hr Emergency Department, ICU/CCU and an extensive Outpatient Clinic. Each year there are approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 540 births.
Working collaboratively with an excellent team of medics and health professionals throughout the hospital, you will provide high quality anaesthetic services, clinical leadership and operational management of anaesthetic services to the patients of Griffith Base Hospital. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services you will display a high level of clinical experience within anaesthesia and a high level of flexibility and integrity as per your role as an integral part of the senior medical team. You will help lead clinical governance activities and service planning/development as required. Key to your success will be your demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously as part of the team you’re your ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff. Any experience in rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios would be advantageous. You will have the opportunity to teach medical students and other staff of the hospital which will reinforce your demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to Anaesthesia.

TAFE NSW Riverina Institute offers a variety of study options including integrated University pathways in partnership with both Charles Sturt and Deakin University with Griffith City Council. A Country Universities Centre is soon to be established in Griffith.
There are also regular daily flights (80mins) to Sydney (where the median house price is $1.1M compared to $325,693 in Griffith….)
