Darwin is a great place to live. With a population of approx. 138k. Walk, run, cycle or drive to work - the city is so easy to get around and it has all the amenities you'd want for yourself and/or family. 20% of Darwin’s population have migrated from overseas so the city is very multicultural.

Darwin’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population only makes up for close to 10% of the overall population but significantly over presents with complex medical issues, including mental health. 

 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Providing first class psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary team context; assessing and treating a wide range of patients with complex medical and social needs because of addictions or addictive behaviours.
  • Providing teaching and mentoring to undergrad, postgrad, staff grade and other stakeholders.
  • Initiating and participating in quality improvement & audit initiatives.
  • Leading from the front in a caring and collegiate manner.

If you are not FRANZCP already and are applying from UK, Ireland, USA, Canada or South Africa you must have the following: 

 

  • A minimum of 3 years experience following the completion of your specialist training.
  • Have completed a formal post of minimum 6 months in CAMHS during your basic  or advanced training.
