Head Medical are assisting with the recruitment of a Clinical Nurse Specialist within Oncology to the beautiful historic island of St Helena in the Caribbean.  This is an extremely important role on the Island, they are looking for a person who is keen to make a difference to the community, utilising their skills to support patients and their carers throughout their journey.

 

St Helena is a UK overseas territory of approximately 4,500 residents based in the South Atlantic.  It is a volcanic island with a tropical climate ranging between 17 and 28 degrees Celsius.  The Island is considered a safe environment to live with petty theft and traffic violations topping the crime statistics!  

 

Your role is to help improve current screening programmes and develop others where possible and administer chemotherapy to patients and to support local nurses in learning to undertake this task.  You will be working within the community developing screening services and supporting patients in their home, while also providing support to screening services, palliative care and chemotherapy services in a hospital setting.  Your role will require the administering (and from time to time mixing) chemotherapy. 

 

Job requirements:

  • Registered Nurse, Level 1 with at least 3 years post qualification experience
  • Nursing Degree
  • Chemotherapy administration trained
  • Experienced within Oncology and palliative care

 

Salary:

  • Up to £38,000 per annum (low tax rate)
  • Tax free International supplement (£15000 – 22,000 depending on family size)
  • Lump sum pension contribution of 7.5% annually
  • Relocation allowance
  • Transportation of personal effects will be met up to a limit of a standard 20ft container at the start and end of the contract.
  • 30 days annual leave

 

Please note you must be able to take the chartered flight from Stanstead airport London on the 11th January 2021 to successfully take up this position.
