We are seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a world-class medical and research centre in Qatar.  

You will be working in a state-of-the-art academic medical centre that will function to the highest levels of international standards.  Its clinical focus is on the specialty care of women and children.

Department Profile

The Department of Psychiatry will provide world class child and adolescent psychiatry and women's mental health services for Sidra Medicine.  The department will provide outstanding teaching and education to the medical students, residents and fellows and will foster the innovative clinical and basic research in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and women's mental health.  The Department of Psychiatry coordinates it's medical services and collaborates it's research and educational activities with Hamad Medical Corporation and Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar.  It is anticipated that, by providing specialist and sub-specialist expertise in an integrated team environment and concomitantly conducting research, Sidra Medicine will become a substantive referral centre for patients within Qatar and the region. 

Job Summary

Consultants are responsible for the delivery of high quality evidence-based care, effective and efficient diagnosing, managing and treating all patients placed under the role holder's care.  The Consultant makes recommendations, orders, appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics as per the patients diagnosed condition.

Qualifications and Experience required

  • MD Degree or equivalent;

  • Completion of residency program in the specialty area from an accredited Western Board;

  • Sub-specialty Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or equivalent training or certification);

  • 2+ years' post certification experience in clinical care or education in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry;

  • Research, Education or Administration experience;

  • Valid professional license in the country of origin or country of practice in the specialty area;

  • Fluent in English and Arabic
