The Role and Hospital
To provide Clinical Cardiology, Echocardiography including Transoesophageal Echocardiography, 3D Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography, Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.
The Townsville Hospital – Cardiac Services Unit is the tertiary cardiac referral unit for North Queensland. The unit services a population of approximately 600,000 people. The Cardiology Unit is part of the overall Surgical Service Group which provides the full range of adult cardiac surgery and cardiology services (except for transplants).
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
