Locum Nurse/ODP Requirement for Dual Anaesthetic and Recovery Role for NHS Shetland!
Head Medical is recruiting for a nurse or ODP who is competent in both anaesthetics and recovery for an ongoing assignment in Shetland. We are looking for candidates who are able to start as soon as possible and you must be registered with NMC/HCPC and have a minimum of 2 years' current theatre experience. There will be on-call requirements, which include supporting the anaesthetist in Maternity, A&E and HDU as part of the anaesthetics role.
The theatre suite includes 2 large operating rooms with adjoining anaesthetic rooms, a 2 bay recovery unit and an Endoscopy decontamination facility. The in-house surgeons take most elective and emergency procedures and obstetric emergencies, while visiting consultants undertake dental, maxillofacial, ENT, Ophthalmology and paediatric surgery. The recovery unit can be used as a level 3 HDU facility and critically ill patients awaiting transfer to tertiary hospitals.
Successful candidates will be expected to complete the board's Occupational Health pre-employment questionnaire and will be booked for a COVID-19 test on arrival.
Suitable candidates must have the following:
- Current NMC/HCPC registration, with no restrictions
- Competent in anaesthetics, recovery roles essential. Experience in scrub would be desirable
- Previous experience within an emergency on-call team is essential
