Head Medical are assisting with the recruitment of an Oncology Specialist Nurse Band 6 to the Shetland Islands. 

You will be working in both a hospital and community setting providing care to patients with oncological and haematological cancer.  The role is supporting the palliative specialist nurse in caring for patients with a palliative diagnosis including end of life care and being able to advise on complex symptom management for patients.  This Shetland Chemotherapy service is a nurse-led service that operates as a satellite to the Cancer Centre in Aberdeen.  You will be working at a distance from the Oncology/Haematology Consultants in Grampian, and so will be accountable for complex decision making.

 

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with a broad range of experience in cancer, palliative care and long-term conditions.
  • Currently based in the UK
  • Immediately available
  • broad range of experience in cancer, palliative care and long-term conditions.
  • Degree level qualification (or Diploma)
  • Cannulation and Venepuncture skills essential
