Locum General Surgeon - St Helena Island, South Atlantic
3 - 6 month contract – flight departs UK 21st August
A short-term contract is available for an experienced Locum General Surgeon to work on the outstandingly beautiful island of St Helena, located in the South Atlantic Ocean. This post is to last a minimum of 3 months with an extension to 6 months a possibility and you must be available to fly on the departing flight from UK on 21st August. Therefore, due to restricted timelines, we will not be able to consider applicants who are required to quarantine prior to taking the flight. The post is offered on an unaccompanied basis, it may be possible to book family to travel with you, at your own cost.
St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK, a sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500. The 30-bed General Hospital in the capital, Jamestown, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.
To be considered you must:
- Hold full G.M.C. registration or equivalence and good standing with that body;
- Have experience at Consultant level or comparable.
- ATLS, APLS or equivalent certificate.
