Head Medical Psychiatry Division
Head Medical now has a team dedicated solely to the recruitment of Psychiatrists for mental health care providers in Australia and New Zealand.
Demand for Psychiatrists in both countries is high. Working conditions, remuneration and lifestyle in each are renowned. However, the medical registration procedures, location preferences, contract duration and remuneration varies between the two countries.
It is important that you understand these differences, and the implications of such an involved decision for you and your families.
The team here at Head Medical includes both Australians and Kiwis, and we regularly visit our clients to see how their services are developing and to learn about each location we represent. This means we are well placed to provide informed advice on all the important aspects of relocating abroad, in both a professional and personal context.
As our headquarters are here in Edinburgh, we can offer same (or near) time-zone advice to most of our international enquiries. We also understand UK training paths and can also offer comprehensive advice and support every step of the way. This includes interview support, contract negotiations, guidance with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists' assessment process (for Australia) and the Medical Council of New Zealand registration process (for New Zealand), and the relocation itself.
For those specifically interested in New Zealand, our recruiter is now based there having made the move too, and is happy to call you in the UK evening-time.
