When looking at housing affordability for professional families and couples thinking of moving to Australia, it is hard to look past Tasmania.
In figures released at the beginning of this year you can clearly see how much more your money buys you for just under $1m as released by the Real Estate Industry of Tasmania.

For the same amount in Melbourne, you can get a two-bedroom apartment with 88-square metres of floor space.
In Hobart, for the same price you can purchase a 253-square metre, four-bedroom, two-bathroom property with a garden, in-ground pool and a spectacular water view on a quarter-acre block.
Affordability in Hobart improved by 1.2 per cent during the second half of 2016 and is now Australia's most affordable capital city.
Hobart has some of the best schools in Australia, an International airport, busy marina and festivals galore!
In Launceston, Tasmania’s second largest city, most of the inner city suburbs are set on hillsides and overlook the CBD and the Tamar River. You'll find a combination of gracious older-style homes in the city and family dwellings in the inner suburbs.
The average house price for a 4-bedroom family home is just AU$425,000. There are many private and public schools, catering for all age groups and plenty of activities to do through the week and over the weekend.
