Review of 2014
This year we consolidated our presence in the new markets of Singapore and Canada placing our first candidates in both territories and developing relationships with additional clients in each location. We've also had significant success relocating Doctors to some more unusual locations including Kazakhstan, St Helena and the Caribbean.
The opening of Qatar's flagship women and children's hospital, Sidra, is now imminent and our presence in this region continues to grow, offering exciting opportunities to recruit Consultants, and for the first time GPs, for private and government facilities throughout the Gulf.
Our core markets of New Zealand and Australia remain buoyant as we work with both existing and new clients to place Doctors in the dream jobs, and we are delighted to retain our position on the New South Wales Health Panel of Overseas Recruitment Agencies.
The expert service we provide requires a thorough understanding of all the markets we are in and, although many of our team have lived and worked in the countries we recruit to, it remains vital to make regular visits (well that's our excuse anyway!), so this year has also seen us take several trips to the Gulf, as well as Singapore and Australia.
We travelled the length and breadth of the UK meeting potential new clients and candidates while spreading the Head Medical word across a range of industry conferences. This year we also exhibited at Arab Health in Dubai and the General Practitioner Conference and Exhibition in Melbourne as well as hosting client interviews and information sessions in both the UK and Ireland.
2014 saw us shortlisted by the Recruitment Business Awards in the Best Niche/Specialist Agency category for the second year in a row! We also exceeded stringent ISO 9001 quality standards for the third year running.
We're always keen to give something back, and this year our annual charitable donation was given to the St Catherine's Convent of Mercy Centre, Alzheimer Scotland and Macmillan Cancer Support. We also took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge and a local radio Mission Christmas appeal, donating gifts for underprivileged children.
The Head Medical family continues to grow and our amazing original team has been further augmented this year by some more new faces:
Congratulations also to Nicky Gregory and Julie Barr on their respective promotions to Head of our GP and Consultant Teams this year!
