GP required for dynamic clinic in Wodonga is looking for a GP who is a team player with great communication skills.

The Role

This is an established modern and well equipped clinic located in the city of Wodonga. It  is a bulk billing practice for patients with a valid Medicare card and they privately bill some procedures to cover cost.

There are 6 consulting rooms with pathology onsite, a dietician and exercise physiologist onsite twice a month and possibly a psychologist within the next few months.   The practice currently has 2 GPs but one is returning to the UK so there is an established and active patient base ready to take over.

The Dr’s see anywhere between 35-43 patients a day- dependent on their preferences. The patient demographic is generally well rounded with a variety of families, adolescent and elderly. The practice is located in the same complex as a busy shopping centre and adjacent to a primary school.

Hours: Mon-Wed- 8:30am-5:30pm

Thur- 8:30am-7:00pm- flexible

Sat- 8:45am-01:00pm- rotating roster

No nursing home visits.

-              Earnings in the region of $350k pa

-              Special interest in women’s health or skin would be very desirable

-              70% Billings

-              $120 per/h guarantee for 3 months.

 

The location

Wodonga is strategically placed between Melbourne  (just over a 3 hour drive) and Sydney on the Hume Hwy, and a 3.5 hour drive from the Capital, Canberra.   The city's population e is more than 37,000.  Wodonga is ideally situated on the Murray River with surrounding hills, rich agricultural valleys, adjacent wineries and historic towns.  Wodonga has more than 80km of bike and walking paths providing the perfect opportunity to meander by the river or enjoy one of the scenic routes that link the city. Picturesque parks and gardens are dotted throughout the community.

The hillsides and parkland reserves provide the ideal bushwalking, bird watching and hiking tracks for the novice as well as the experienced walker. Quality restaurants, coffee shops and taverns offer wonderful food and entertainment for locals and visitors. The wine areas of Rutherglen, Beechworth, Milawa and King Valley to the south, and Tumbarumba to the north, make for a great wine lovers' experience.

Wodonga is a leader in regional health facilities and has a comprehensive range of services available to the community. There are a huge number of general practitioners and specialists in the region, with fully qualified professionals working in all fields from obstetrics to oncology and from pediatrics to psychiatry. Wodonga is also fortunate in having some of the finest sports medicine practitioners, physiotherapists and chiropractors based in the region. The city continues to enjoy significant growth, which has prompted several residential developments in the Leneva Valley and Baranduda area- this practice is the nearest medical centre to these developments.

Wodonga is well serviced with a wide range of educational facilities for its population and industry. There are privately-owned and council-managed preschools to cater for children’s early learning needs. More than 20 primary and secondary schools are located within the city including public and Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran denominations. A special development school for disabled children also operates.
