Only 90 minutes scenic drive from Wellington or 2 hours from Taupo makes Palmerston North a great base to explore the North Island from. Expect to spend a lot of time outside, because the area’s geography has inspired an exciting choice of mild, medium and wild adventures. Rafting, kayaking, horse trekking, mountain biking and rock climbing are just some of the things you can do.

Palmerston North, which is New Zealand’s 5th largest city,  is home to a thriving musical scene with many national and international acts touring through the town; as well as there being many local acts performing regularly. There are also theatres and a thriving wine industry. Whatever the occasion or mood, there is a café, bar or restaurant to cater to your tastes; from a shot of espresso to a meal that combines the best of local produce, and everything in between!

How Head Medical can help you

Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
