GP required for a semi-rural practice based in Taupo on the North Island of New Zealand

Position
The vacancy is for a Full Time General Practitioner who is looking to work 8 or 9 sessions per week. You will be requires to participate in an after hours & weekend roster. This will be no more than 2 per week Monday to Friday & no more than 1 in 4 for weekend duties.
Alongside General Practice, you will support a wide range of services to the community to help them maintain good health. The centre offers the main service of general practice but also accommodates accident & emergency & minor surgery as well as additional services such as immunisation and cervical smears, education and information clinics for specific health problems such as asthma and diabetes.
The Practice
The centre is open 8am – 5.30pm and also provides evening & weekend clinics.
It is also only a short distance away from Taupo Hospital.
With a registered population of 15,500 in the area, this centre currently has 8 GP’s who have full clinical support from 13 nurses & also a very strong administration support team of 12. The practice is fully computerised, using Med Tech.

Taupo has a small airport 8km to the south of the town on the eastern shores. Scheduled flights are operated by a number of difference carries & it is becoming increasing popular due to the close proximity to world-renowned trout fishing, golf, hunting, and skiing.
