Singapore was ranked 6th in the World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems in the year 2000, and Bloomberg ranked Singapore’s healthcare system the 1st most efficient in the world in 2014.

With a healthcare system based on the UK’s NHS, hospitals in the country are always interested in UK and Irish trained Doctors who have recently embarked on their Consultant career, and wish to establish themselves within a healthcare system which will support them as they grow.

Singapore has developed an innovative system which involves splitting the country’s Government healthcare institutions into six broad ‘clusters’ - They include National University Health System, National Healthcare Group, Singapore Health Services, Alexandra Health System, Jurong Health Services, and Eastern Health Alliance. Each cluster is managed like a private, not-for-profit company which allows flexibility and autonomy to best provide for its patients, and this approach has led to one of the most efficient healthcare systems in the world.

Living in Singapore?

“Myself and my family are now settled in Singapore and purely based on the quality of life here, incredibly unlikely to ever return to the UK!”

A statement from one of our recent placements, this is the sort of feedback we frequently hear from our Doctors who have made the move. With an average working week of 42 – 44 hours, Doctors often find they are able to spend far more time doing the things they love. The country guarantees its citizens decent housing, healthcare and extremely high standards of education; and competitive salaries combined with lower tax‘s compared to Western countries make for an attractive destination financially.
