Nicky Gregory
Managing Consultant
Nicky Gregory, mangaing consultant has previously worked with Anna and joined Head Medical in 2009. Coming from a healthcare recruitment background, Nicky joined us to further develop the GP division.
Nicky originally followed the path of secretarial and office management within legal and surveying firms. Being responsible for recruiting her own staff, It was being on the client side of dealing with recruitment consultancies that introduced her to the challenges and rewards that a career in the industry could offer.
Embarking on her recruitment career in 2001, she joined a medical recruitment company where she specialized in placing specialist nurses and operating department practitioners into contract positions with the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK. After 6 years of being a successful consultant and laterally managing the theatre team Nicky developed strong relationships within this sector – little did she know how important these might be a couple of years down the line!
After taking a year off to start a family, Nicky then joined a commercial recruitment agency in Edinburgh where she further developed her recruitment skills by placing office support staff into permanent appointments within corporate firms. Keen to return to the medical sector, she met with Anna and jumped at the chance when she was offered the opportunity to join Head Medical.
Nicky now works with a wide variety of general practice clients throughout Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and Victoria and has developed a deep understanding of general pracitce in Australia. Nicky knows the challenges that face overseas trained doctors when making the tranistion to work in Australia and will also guide you through the red tape invovled in searching for suitable job opportunities and subsequently medical registration when you find your perfect job.
