Christchurch is the 2nd largest city on the south island of New Zealand. With a population of around 350,000 it is the gateway to the south island. Internationally famed 'The Garden City', Christchurch has well-established expansive parks and public gardens.
To the east of the city lies the open ocean and Banks Peninsula, featuring sheltered bays, sandy beaches, and rocky coastline. Boating, trekking and a visit to wineries are key attractions. To the west, past fertile plains and braided rivers are forested foothills and lakes. Beyond them lie the tallest mountains in Australasia, the Southern Alps.
You will be surprised at just how familiar Christchurch can feel. There is a more relaxed, friendly environment, a climate made for the great outdoors and more wide open spaces than you can imagine. At the heart of Christchurch is a vibrant, artistic core with a strong sense of community. It’s a wonderful place to call home.
