Head Medical are helping Head Resourcing to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary with 10 charity events. We are hoping to raise £10,000 for the two charities, including a 10 mile swim and a 100 mile cycle.
On Friday 14 October, Head Resourcing’s Managing Director Gordon Adam will run 100km (61miles), in 10 hours between Glasgow and Edinburgh along the Forth and Clyde and Union canals.
Gordon said: “I’ve thought about this for a few months but finally decided to attempt it recently when I managed to run from our office in Edinburgh, home to Stirling. However, the 100km will be the equivalent of an additional marathon and way beyond any distance I’ve previously run. I’m hoping the generosity of donations will keep me struggling on in those last kilometres.”
Rachel McKenzie, Community Fundraising Manager at Sick Kids Friends Foundation, said: “I think this is a great way for Head Resourcing to celebrate their ten year milestone and I would like to say a big thanks to all of the staff taking part. They are going above and beyond to secure donations for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation and we are all extremely grateful. Scotland’s sick kids will truly benefit from the cash boost.
We are currently driving a fundraising initiative to raise £68,000 for new CUSA brain surgery equipment which will be able to remove tumours in children."
Head Resourcing and Head Medical employees are also taking part in nine other events including a football match between a Scottish Business Select team and the Hearts Legends which will involve several senior financial services managers. The company have also held a zumbathon and a quiz night in recent weeks.
