Recent changes in policy by the Medical Council of New Zealand mean that employers are now obliged to provide even more comprehensive, induction, orientation and on the job support to doctors arriving to work in New Zealand. The Medical Council of New Zealand will ensure that adequate support systems are in place to support all doctors when they begin medical practice in New Zealand.
Anna Payne, Manager of Head Medical said: “Many doctors who move from the UK to New Zealand are very experienced however are, just as you would expect, unfamiliar with the new practice environment and health systems. It often takes some time to adjust to working in a new environment and we are positive these changes will make the transition much easier for overseas trained doctors starting work in New Zealand.”
